You'll need to use one of the Cricut design programs. . .Cricut Craft Room {which is free}, a gypsy or the older purchased program Design Studio.
On all of the programs, you will use the Weld function where you move the letters to where they slightly overlap and weld them together.

Just touch any 2 images together and a pop up will ask you to weld or not to weld. The parts that overlap will gray out indicating the areas that will not cut. Or if you select the "text" tab on the left hand side of the ccr, select add new text box, select your font that you want to use from the selection box in the text tool, type your word and then click the down arrow on teh letter spacing until the letters connect like you like. I don't particularly like using the text box unless I just want a straight line word. I like doing the individual letters/images on the mat because it gives you the ability to place them wonky if you like. Hope this helps.

I did all of the tutorials for CCR and while it didn't answer all of my questions, it did help a lot.

Do you have to have the adapter to get to the software to access the Cricut Craft Room? I am wanting to created words instead of single letters and am so lost on how to do it. Just bought my Expression 2 a few days ago and trying to learn everything. Got very frustrated trying to figure it all out on my own.
Also, has anyone every had problems with the touch screen? Some of the buttons aren't responding to the pen and it selects things I wasn't even close to touching. And it's brand new!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You don't have to have the wireless adapter, you can connect your Cricut to your computer using a usb cable like you use to connect a home printer to your computer.
If you haven't updated your E2, I'd try that and see if it fixes the non-responsive buttons. If it doesn't, call PC and CS will help you troubleshoot.

Ok...I tried plugging it up to my computer that night and nothing happened/popped up. I didn't really know what to do from there. How do I download the software? Is it free?
