It usually takes me forrrrrrrrrever to pick out papers, cut images, glue and make ANY of my projects. I designed this Gingerbread House with the forest behind it a few nights ago, cut out most of the images late last night and got up this morning and starting piecing it together.

There are SURPRISE Gingerbread people inside......a Gingerbread Man, our DGS's dog, our DGS and his dad (he calls him dad) and his mommy. Lucas is two-years-old. I wrote the poem myself as I do in almost all his cards I make for him. I think his mom gets the most kick out of the cards and she lets me know she enjoys them. I'm not so sure about Lucas. I think our DS likes the cards, too.

All these Gingerbread people will hang on their Christmas Tree. Lucas loves to take various ornaments off (several times a day) to talk to his mommy about them. I think he'll have a little fun with these.

I cut his mom's hair...she has long blonde hair (the figure on the far left). Lucas is the little skinny guy, of course, the Gingerbread Man is fatter....and, you know the rest.

While getting these pictures ready to load, I decided I need to reinforce where the card folds, do some decorative coloring around the paper I wrote out the poem on (a color to match the papers) and something else......does anyone know what else I thought of? LOL.

Hope you like this card! I sure had fun making it!

Char

Thanks so much, everyone, for all the sweet comments. I really did have fun with the card; and, it probably took 1/20th the time it usually takes me to make anything for our DGS!

I'm just getting it ready to send to him...along with a few gifts we got for him to open on Christmas morning. We're going to be driving down to see him for three glorious weeks; so, mommy (DDIL) said they would wait for him to open gifts (we'll have some other bigger items for him that it doesn't make sense to send in the mail)! We even have birthday gifts we're taking from Sept. 30th when he was here for his birthday.

Can't wait to see him!

Thanks, again, for the nice comments, everyone.

It really wasn't a hard card to make at all. I did use CCR to put the forest behind the gingerbread house. BUT, the layering on the house itself was really very easy. I just picked out the colors (I did use markers on a few of the images) and the colors make everything look more complicated than it really was. It all fell into place quite easily. I did embellish the bushes and the snow on top of the house......but, again, it was as SIMPLE as cutting out all the layers and gluing them on.

I had so much fun with this card.
