hi, deciding on what cricut to get as a xmas gift for a family member.

But, does the mini also use the carts from the expression?

or do you have to buy mini carts to use with it???

A lot of family members have the reg carts - and I need to get a cricut that will be able to use the reg carts with it also.

also, does the cake cricut cut chocolate?

The mini uses any Cricut cartridge except Imagine cartridges not 100% sure about the Imagine part.

I do not have a mini but my understanding of the mini is that the cart do not go directly into the machine you have to use CCR (cricut craft room)a free online software from provocrafts or the gyspy. If you plan on sharing carts I would get the create or expression.

There are only Cricut carts., and Imagine carts, which will not work in the mini. The Cricut cake will cut chocolate - go to the Cake machine forum for info.- lots of help there. BJR.

The cricut mini only works with original carts and digital files. There is no keyboard with the mini so you can only use the Gypsy or CCR with it...
