Hello, I just got a cricut mini and am still trying to figure out what I'm doing. I want to make some tumblers for Christmas gifts with cut out letters inside vinyl shapes. I'm attaching a pic. I have no idea how to cut the letters inside the shape? I want them to look similar to this... http://3.bp.blogspot.com...F9Gk/s320/drinkcups2.jpgThanks in advance.

Since you have a Mini, using CCR will make this a breeze! Place your shape on the mat. Then add the name, using the Text Box feature makes that easy. You can adjust the spacing between the letters in the Text Box as well as the size of the letters. Or, for sizing, use the handles around the name to make it fit on your shape. Don't weld the letters to the shape and they will cut separately. scrapalette attached the following image(s):

Thank you for your help! Just one question...will the letters cut directly into the shape then or will it be two layers of vinyl?

If you place the letters inside the shape {and don't weld them} they will cut out in the one piece of vinyl that is on your mat.
If you want to layer them, you can place the shape on on mat and cut with the desired color of vinyl and place the letters on another mat and cut them in the desired color vinyl and use transfer tape to place the letters onto your base shape and then onto your project.
