Christmas Village Free CCR cuts this week! - any tips?

What would be a good size to cut? I have 12 x 24 mats, should I try and find some 12 x 24 cardstock? Seems like 12x12 would be too small. I think this definitely calls for me going out to buy a new Christmas paper stack! And I seem to have a lull in my work schedule and should have plenty of time to work on this.
