I have seen several project photos where a name or shape has two colors. How do you do this? I have a cricut expression and I use the CCR. Thanks Donna

It's the same procedure as when you use paper. Hope this helps!

You cut the base image in the color vinyl {or paper} you want, then cut the layers in the color(s) you want and place them on top of each other.

Do I do the base layer a size bigger to get the shadow effect? I use CCR if that helps. I just got my cricut about a month ago so I am still in learning to use it mode haha

Donna No . . . you DON'T want to change the sizes at all. You need to find a font that has a Shadow Feature button. If you change the size things might not line up correctly. I did a blog post about this . . . you can read it here http://craftychicsblog.b...ts-with-shadow-cuts.html

Also, the setting must be on Relative size, not Real size or the layers will not be the correct size. I'm sorry about my earlier post! I didn't realize you hadn't cut paper yet. I guess I shouldn't have assumed.

I have always been one to buy something and then learn as much as I can before I start using it..I have played a little but with just regular paper...and I made a sign for my stepson's truck with vinyl but now I want to do more! LOL Donna

LOL Donna GREAT POINT! Test things in paper first! That is something I did for this project . . . the pumpkins were cut from Stretch Your Imagination, and then I wanted to use Pumpkin Carvings to cut out faces. I cut one face from paper . . . some cheap scrap piece of paper . . . to make sure I had the size right before I cut the faces out of the Square 1 adhesive backed material (I use Square 1 instead of "traditional" vinyl) Since the product removes easily we can change out the faces as often as we want. I actually cut 6 different faces, and we mix and match the different pieces we want to use.
