Hello friends! Recently I was using my cricut to make Halloween cards and I was getting annoyed at how sloppy the glue looked on some of the cards, especially when I was gluing very intricate things like letters. Even though most glue dries clear, you could still see the "shinyness" and I would love to eliminate that. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!!!

I use the Zyron sticker machines. They have them in sizes 1", 2.5" and 5". I use the 1 and 2.5 sizes the most. They are great for all the small tiny pieces.

Hello,
I always use Rubber Cement from Walmart. Is the best glue for paper projects. It's wrinkle free and really easy to clear after dry.

I use either the Xyron or the Zig glue pens. They both work great!

I use a Xyron and they work wonderfully. I also have a Creatopia by Xyron and run 12 x 12 sheets thru before I send it thru the Cricut and it come out with adhesive already to go. If you are willing to cut your paper there is a 9" you could get. Hope this helps.

The xyron is good for that. You have to rub off the overhang or it will still be messy looking. That is why I don't use it often any more.
I have used almost every glue on the planet and the only true way to avoid that is to use a smaller amount of glue! I have now moved to Martha Stewart glue pens and the Zig pens. I tend to use MS more as it seems to stick well and give me less grief. Everyone has their preferences of glue, it's kind of like asking what is the best chocolate bar out there!   hth

If I am doing intricate cutting, I like to use the sticky mats that sizzix makes and adhere my paper then cut (can do also with the xyron stuff - I have done that as well). That way I am making stickers. No sticky overhang if you cut your paper directly from the xyron stuff. To get it to stay put on the cricut mat (whole non stick surface thing) - I have an old mat I use and just tape the edges down. Play with your settings a bit so you don't cut all the way through (doesn't hurt if you do, just makes things easier if you don't). Kind of like cutting vinyl only you have to have the blade depth deeper. Otherwise, I agree with everyone else here - the zig glue pens (haven't tried MS ones yet, but I do like most of her product, so will be in the future) work better than any other brand. They make so many different tips, that even when using for small, fine lettering (thinking of Jasmine), you can get the letters on the page with no glue residue showing. Other option - I put on the piece and make it shiny with glossy accents or something like that

I have had good luck with a crepe like rubber glue eraser. I think you can buy them at Hl or M's or one of those stores. They are kind of a beige color and are about 2 inches by 2 inches.
