I need to cut heat transfer vinyl lettering. Need to know will the cricut mini do this? I need a specific phrase. Also, this doesn't allow personalized cutting only the shapes included in the cartridge right?
New to the cutting world!

I don't know about the particular material you are asking if the mini cuts.
As far as cutting a particular phrase, you can do that using a cricut font cartridge. You will not be able to cut using fonts on your computer. You should go to either cricut.com or cricutmachine.com and take a look at the cartridges available. You can view the digital handbooks to see if you might like a particular font. You can also download and use their free design software called CCR (Cricut Craft Room). You'll be able to design a project using any of their cartridges, but you won't be able to cut unless you own the cartridge, and only using one of their machines. This would be an inexpensive way (it's free) to see if the designs in a cartridge based system will meet your needs and your budget.

I don't have the mini but I don't see why it wouldn't cut vinyl. Vinyl isn't thick at all. Hope someone who owns a mini stops by for you.
