The Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival Sept 14, 15, 2012 Millenium Place in Sherwood Park, Edmonton Oct 19, 20, 2012 The BMO Centre, Stampede Park, Calgary
or the CreativFestival Oct 12-14, 2012, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South Building
or Scrapfest Oct 12, 13, 2012, Durham College, Oshwa Ontario
Has anyone been to these things before? What are they like? Are they any fun at all? I'm just curious, living in Northern BC has it's limits, but the internet helps to open my world a bit.

Huh. I hadn't even heard about this! I might try to go on Friday, but I've got a busy weekend planned, so I'll just have to see how things go. Thanks for the heads up!

I might go this weekend. I'm still tired from the CTMH Regionals this weekend past.

I'm going to the Sherwood Park, Alberta one tomorrow. First time it has been held there as previously it was in Edmonton. Bigger venue I believe, so hopefully much more to see!! Edited to add, Don't tell people from Sherwood Park that they are part of Edmonton, you will start a war!!! Edited by user Friday, September 14, 2012 12:56:21 PM(UTC)

Went today, NO CRICUT to be seen!! None of the other makes of electronic cutting machines either. Quite a disappointment. I did manage to buy a set of Spectrum noir pens (24 Light set) and 2 stamps, but that was it. Mostly sewing machines and quilting. I looked at the newest version of my sewing/embroidery machine - would take up a whole bedroom! Asked the price - $8,000!!! No thank you, I'll wait for one that makes the coffee as well! Phew!

Oh my word, Rose! What does quilting/sewing have to do with scrapbooking? Okay, I know that they are all crafts but if the event was called the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival, silly me, I would have assumed it would be about exhibits of paper crafts at least. Sounds like it was a bit of a circus (no offense intended to circus people, after all, they are just one letter different from us cricut people). I was excited to learn there was an event in Calgary on October, but now I don't know if I will attend the Calgary Carnival, sometimes you just can't trust those carnies... File this under Things that make you go Hmmm???

Thanks for the update. I guess I didnt miss anything. Unfortunately, living in South Saskatchewan, I miss all those big events. Ahhhhh my money is safe once again!

Thanks for the updates, good to know I'm not missing much I guess. I've quit buying the other magazines & just limited to the Canadian Scrapbooker mag, gotta support Canadian when we can right?
Still haven't heard from DugsPookie or Sherrihend180 about the CTMH regionals yet. I suspect that was a whole lot of fun. Sign me jealous but happy for them!
Canadianrose, I hear ya about the fancy-dancy machines. If they are so fancy, they'd better do some housework to make it into my home, LOL!
