Hi everyone! Just dropping by to see how we are coming along! I was gonna say I have no problem waiting, but see they have received the replacement machines and mailed! Did you all see the sad announcement that they have discontinued the Imagine machine? reading in the thread on that announcement in the Cricut Chat section, it tells what update we should be using, and they recommend updating to it before your warrenty runs out, but I am afraid to do it for fear I will mess up my machine!! maybe next week I will give it a try and cross my fingers, eyes and toes!! Sorry to see they are discontinuiing the I already.....hope mine keeps working for many years!!

glad to hear your machine arrived!
what was the image/cartridge that locked up both machines?

Jen -- It wasn't a cartridge, it was the print head that locked it up. Once it misreads an ink cartridge, it goes haywire. I am really concerned about this because the machine is being discontinued, what happens to those of us with our machines? No more cartridges???????? So we just have to get really good at using the original carts with the imagine and see what we can do. Maybe you could come up with a swap where we would have to do something with an original cartridge using our imagine and make some neat projects?????
Thanks again for all your patience and to the ladies in this swap. Words can't express how much we love this group and the support we received during our "crisis" was fantastic.

This is a really good idea. This whole experience was not fun and I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else. So make sure you use your warranty. LOL I enjoy using the machine and it is alot of money to pay for something that they are gonna discontinue. So enjoy the machine while you can.
Thanks #1babysister Gayle
PS. Evelyn you are so right, thanks for everyone understanding. This was a very fun swap and I'm glad to be in this group

I like the idea of an Imagine swap that uses original cartridges too. Maybe to create a cut from a non-I cartridge using colors and patterns from I cartridges. What do you all think? Suggestions are welcome! evelyn- what is the status of your cuts? Edited by user Sunday, October 28, 2012 7:59:55 PM(UTC)

I like the idea of a swap with non-I cartridges because it forces us to use our machine and explore its capabilities. A person learns a lot from just experimenting and a swap would just reinforce that. Just think of all the cuts we would get. Wow!

Can't wait to see what everyone did.
I bought my Imagine for the regular carts, not the Imagine ones :) The RGB code is the best thing on that machine I think. Getting pretty exact on the character cartridges (i.e. disney etc) is great! There's an RGB thread on the Imagine forum. I can't do the new swap you posted. Just too swamped at the moment. If anyone needs help with that though, just give me a holler. :)

So Khrista, you do a lot of cutting from regular cartridges on your Imagine and color fill the images using the RGB codes? That sounds pretty heavy to me!! Not sure I am anywhere near ready for that yet!!!

It's actually fairly easy GrandmaJ. I tried it out with the Best of Pixar cartridge for Katt's preschool class. I made a Sulley and Mike W. using the Disney RGB codes and they looked great! You can find some blogs and stuff where people have created their own lists of RGB codes, I found Sesame Street ones which I will definitely use! Might even do that for this new swap!

Wanted to let everyone know that my package arrived in today's mail. I must say I am now on eBay trying to find the carts that I don't already own. The papers and images were so beautiful. I have so many project ideas for what they will be used for. This was a great idea Jen.
