The picture I showed her is of my DGC at the amusement park this summer where they were sitting in a vintage car when I snapped the photo.
So Laura went with vintage, vintage car (adorable die cut too!) and my fav. color of red! She couldn't go wrong and it really turned out lovely.
I had thought I might give it to my daughter to enjoy at their home but now I'm thinking no way can I do that! I like it too much to give away! I'll just have to alter a frame for them instead. Would make a good xmas present idea.
Be back in a bit with the picture. Finishing up lunch here first.... Gwen, you are definitely going to have to keep that frame. Laura you really outdid yourself, it's lovely.

PlanLady...not to worry. I'm going to work on mine this weekend. Had some other stuff to finish up, besides unpacking my room. Denise...stay safe. I'm originally from New Orleans so I know how to deal with hurricanes. Trust me, if the Mayor says leave, then leave. These things are not to be messed with. Hopefully you have plenty of water, candles, batteries, crank radio, etc. in case you lose electricity and services. Also if you do stay and you get flooding, bring an axe into your attic to cut your way out to safety. Just saying!

We lived in my fathers family home in the garden district, till he got a job in PA and we moved here. I was a toddler and do not remember much except a funeral procession with jazz band and all that it entails. Did not make it to the PO today, tomorrow for sure. Denise

didn't make it to the post office yesterday due to all the preparations we had to make for this storm so hopefully tomorrow before it sets in too bad, if not, I may be a day late in mailing. Will that count against me?

I don't usually post my own stuff but LadyB hasn't been on the MB in a month and she did receive her frame from me last Saturday. I also received mine from her last week. Hope she is okay. She wanted purple and black and I went with a Vintage style and used black velvety paper. Edited by user Sunday, October 28, 2012 2:50:53 PM(UTC)

Jean, the frame turned out lovely! I love how the leaves layer and climb up. You did a great job!
My frame for Laura is complete. (and I love it!) But I don't think it will get mailed til end of week after storm passes. I was just on the USPS site and they have an alert about the storm, delays, etc. So no sense even thinking about getting to PO this next couple of days. I'd rather hold on to the pkg. myself instead of worrying where it's sitting in storage on some truck until the storm passes.
And no Denise, we won't be docked for mailing after the storm passes. Robin understands.

TO MY EAST COAST SWAPPERS...I totally understand hurricane weather as I myself am originally from New Orleans. Therefore, for those of you who are involved in this storm, please know that your safety is more important than getting a frame in the mail. Just try to mail as soon as you possibly can after this storm passes. I know your partner will be totally understanding. Those of you who have a partner on the east coast, feel free to wait a couple of days before mailing so it doesn't get lost in the mail. Edited by user Monday, October 29, 2012 7:49:08 AM(UTC)

Gwynne loved the colors you used ont he frame. It came out gorgeous. Jeri - great job on the frame for KM. I especially loved the detail of framing the embellie...think I need to scraplift that idea. All these frames are coming out wonderful. Need to snag them all.

It has been raining for the past 24 hours and the winds are picking up. Expected landfall in Atlantic City NJ about 5:00PM or around that time then it takes that nasty left turn and heads into PA. Safe safe everyone. Just wanted to give a quick update while I can.

My prayers are continueing almost constantly for all of you on the east coast. Stay safe and keep in touch so we know you are alright. Maybe you will be able to call someone and have them post for you if you loose power so we know you are alright!

I was done babysitting early today so I was able to get Laura's frame in the mail, priority.
Now just for the wait....
This was my first altered frame (that I can recall) and I had so much fun with it! So thank you SO much Robin for this swap!

We had massive rain and winds...sustained at 78 mph at one point. We lost power at 8:20 last night and it came back on at 5;30 this morning. My family laughed when they found out I was crafting by flashlight at 2:30 this morning. On the plus side I was able to get quite a few things done craft wise without interruption. I had the forethought to cut out a few things with my E2 so I was able to finish some cards and made matching envelopes. Hope everyone else is doing well.
