since i've registered here i've not been able to long back into old boards and do anything! anyone else experience that?

I can go back and log in. But it's no big deal. The only thing you can do logged in that you can't do as a guest is post on existing threads.
If you want to be logged in over there, click on the cricut.com in the upper right corner of this forum.

when I go back at the very top it says "welcome back Chantel"
but then above the message board it says logged in as guest, I want to do a search and it won't let me

Not sure if this is related to your issue, but I think some users are having isssues having both boards open at the same time and being logged in to both. If the problem comes back, try closing and/or logging out of the board you are not using. HTH.
