I have never used vinyl, but after seeing some of the creations here, I want to try it... Do you need to use the deep cut blade??? What settings work best??? Any other tips?? I'm sure this is all posted somewhere, but I'm lazy .

Welcome to the board. You do not need a deep cut blade. I like to use 3-3. This will cut the vinyl but not the backing making the backing easy to come off.

There's a great video on youtube on cutting vinyl - before I saw this I was cutting it all wrong. I was cutting all the way through and trying to weed and put to transfer tape and it would not work very well. Regular blade, medium speed and pressure and the blade needs to be set at 3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjldXXYkXTo

I have my BLADE DEPTH at 3 also, but if I'm using a newer blade, the PRESSURE is at 2, or 3 if it's getting a bit dull & the SPEED is set at 3, or sometimes 2 if it's a more intricate design. Your machine may be a bit different, so it's best to test the different settings first before trying to cut for an actual project. I seen a video yesterday where the lady said her settings were blade depth - 4 & pressure on 1 & speed at 3. If you don't cut vinyl frequently (but you'll be addicted in no time ) you may want to tape your vinyl settings on your machine for fast reference until you know them by heart.

I have been using quite a bit of vinyl lately, and had no idea to set my machine to "3". Thanks for the heads up ladies!
