I made this cake for my coworkers who were going on a cruise this week. I made my own buttercream, and colored the fondant/gumpaste. We all went to dinner the night before their cruise, and enjoyed the cake for dessert.

It looks great! How did you get your buttercream so smooth?

After frosting and making it as smooth as I can with my long spatula, wait 15 minutes, and use a piece of parchment paper and your hand to smooth out the wrinkles. Do you have a Cricut Cake machine? If so, have you made any cakes yet? I am making one for a friend at work (a Basketball Cake) and will post some pics of it when it is done.

I do have a Cricut cake and have made a few things but will brave my first cake this weekend for my son's birthday. If all goes well, I will post pictures. I'm covering in fondant and making the decorations in candy clay. What I have made so far I have loved! I really enjoy this machine and just try to find excuses to use it!
