When you emboss a card do you emboss the front & back or only the front?
I noticed when I emboss the entire card, that is, place a folded card in an embossing folder, the back is debossed but the inside of the back is embossed (IMO this s/b on the outside); the inside back cover is the part that the recipient sees & where the text would be when the card is opened. I'm pretty sure I'm doing this wrong.
So, should I only emboss the front of a card, I really like the embossing effect on the front & back of card. Should I leave the card open and emboss as if it is one long piece of paper (hope this makes sense) lol.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Best, Mary R.

I was embossing the front of the card. I put the part I wanted to emboss in the folder and left the other half out of the folder and ran it through that way. Now, I mainly just run another piece of paper through and glue it to the front of the card. I find it easier. Plus, I can attach the ribbon on the card to this piece and attach it on the back too.

I only emboss the front, but it's really a matter of opinion. If you like the results, that's what counts.

If you like the results of putting the whole card in the folder then there are two ways to be able to deal with the message. 1. write before embossing so your pen won't skip and 2. attach a 3 x 5 card on the inside (the ones that are sold office depot and such or in the aisles with office supplies) get the ones without the lines. They work great for me. I usually emboss papers and then attach them to the out side but the 3 x 5 works really well for me. Edited by user Thursday, March 22, 2012 9:59:11 PM(UTC)
