When I emboss using my Cuttlebug, the impressions are not even all of the way across the paper. The edges are deeper than the center. Is there anything I can do to rememdy this?
Thanks, Janice

I've never heard of this happening. Are your plates warped?

Try cutting your piece of card so that it fits inside the folder with no overlapping edges - see it that helps...also try adding a thin piece of card under the folder (slightly larger than the folder itself) as a shim to thicken up the sandwich... thank you for the replies. I don't think they're warped - I've had my Cuttlebug maybe a year now and haven't used it much. I will definitely play more with the shimming thing.
Thanks, Janice

Sometimes some of the folders are a sharper cut on the embossing and sometimes it can be the paper you use.. *(sometimes the cheaper, thinner paper may tear in the centers too)* If I have an embossing folder that seems to cut deeper in the middle I will put a Kleenex in it.... Which softens the center and I get a great patterned Kleenex.. LOL!! (Or you can put a couple pieces of tissue paper..and get the pretty pattern on that as well)

How are you placing the folder? I find that it works better if you feed the folded edge first....I sometimes find laying an extra cardstock or tissue that fits inside the folder as a shim....

I want to thank everyone for their replies. I'm still not sure but have still been playing. I bought a product that's like a pad for embossing and have used it as one of the layers and they it seems to be embossing more evenly, maybe it needed a bit more "cushioning". We'll see.
Thanks, Janice
