I just got a cricut cake and plugged my gypsy into it, and it said I needed to do a firmware update on the cake machine in order to use the gypsy. However, I cannot find anything on Cricut.com except to upgrade the newer machines. Any help?

Yes, you can. All you need to update it is your gypsy. First, connect your Gypsy to the power source (AC adapter) because it'll take a while and you don't want it to run out of battery. Then connect you gypsy to the Cricut Cake and turn the Gypsy on. Then turn the Cricut Cake on. ON the gypsy, there is an option That has an UP arrow and it says "UPDATE YOUR CRICUT" press that one and follow the directions. You should be set.
I've used my gypsy for many a Cricut Cake project.
Hope This Helps. ALI
