I first cut the bird and then used the negative space for my reverse mask. I layed the negative space cut down on my card base and sponged Distress ink onto it and then when I removed the mask you have the shape of the bird. I then stamped some flourishes and branches and a sentiment. paperblossoms attached the following image(s):
