I need help! I got my CE2 for Christmas and I have been using CCR on my mac computer. However it always seems to lock up my computer after about 5 min or so. I have tried using the all online version as well and I have the same problem. I do not have a Gypsy, yet :), so any suggestions would really help! Check out my Cricut Projects at http://homemademommyandbaby.blogspot.com/

My cricut was freezing, and I finally discovered that it was causing the virus scan software to start scanning, and I had to stop the virus software, and it finally worked.

No I havent figured it out yet. My computer doesnt have virus software since it is a mac (no one takes the time to writ virus software for macs lol). I have updated it and that helped a little bit. next step is to uninstall and then reinstall. I will let you know!

I have the same problem on my Windows computer. I was starting to wonder if it just couldn't handle the graphics but hearing that you Mac ladies are having the same problem tells me that it is definitely CCR. I love CCR. It makes my Cricut so much more useful. I just hope they work the bugs out of it soon.

I never got it to work on my lap top but on our iMac it works just fine. We have separated the hard drive, so we technically have a mac and a pc. It works on both. I just upgraded it so that could have helped. I do love the program though!!!

Argh! I'm using a Mac laptop with my Cricut Mini and craftroom constantly freezes after a few minutes. It is very frustrating and I still haven't come up with any solutions. I am using the most updated version. If someone has any solutions, please post!

I also have a MacBook and it will freeze up on me after about 30 minutes while using it with my CE2. I LOVE CCR and hope this issue is soon resolved.

I had to make an 18 letter banner for a party and it took me DAYS!! Tech support had me uninstall, update my CE2 and reinstall and still my Mac and IMAC would constantly "FREEZE" up. It also wouldn't recognize either my cricut or cartridge and would only cut ONE design or letter at a time. It also often sent "ERROR" messages and just shut down. They told me it was my Close to my Heart Art Philosophy cartrige.
This cartridge was alright a month ago with an older CCR version and even when I linked it, and other cartridges... no luck. I think it is a CCR program compatibility issue with Mac's!

I also use a MacBook Pro and it loose connection with the cricut constantly. It will cut like two things and then just loose connection totally. I am so frustrated! I have sync'ed, updated drivers, all to no avail! I have to turn one completely off - and start over. I am wasting paper and a lot of time! So annoying! Do you think it would help to have the wireless on the cricut expressions 2? Would it not loose connection that way? I am ready to scream!

I'm glad to hear it's not just me! I created a 12 letter banner recently and it took me over 4 hours to cut it! I have an Expression2 and iMac/Macbook (tried it using both) and had to constantly shut down my computer. My E2 machine has the latest updates. I love the Cricut but someone has to look into these issues with Macs because it definitely appears to be a problem with the software. Edited by user Tuesday, October 30, 2012 9:32:04 AM(UTC)

Wow! I thought I was probably the only one have issues the Craft Room! I can't get it to work on my Mac or or my PC laptop. The Mac just freezes. It will try to initialize for hours! Somehow it doesn't sync or recognize my E2 on the PC. So frustrating! Tech support hasn't been able to help me. Hope somebody can solve the problem!

I'm having the exact same problems that everyone else is - using a MacBook and E2, CCR freezes either at the "Checking Mat" or the "Initializing Cricut Craft Room" screens. I'm beginning to want to throw my beloved new tool out the window!

If it was a PC I'd say that it was an anti-virus program blocking things.
However, as it's a Mac I know that most of you don't have/need anti-virus programs.
So.... something else must be blocking CCR.
Do you have any pop-up blockers installed? Or Ad blockers?

Hi there! I'm brand new to the "community" and a fairly new Cricut user. I've been trying for 2 days to finish creating a teddy beat character for the invites for my daughter's shower. I bought the digital download and everything was working fine until yesterday. I'm having the same problem you all are with my PC. I feel better knowing it's not just me! I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything to no avail. Very aggravating because it did work perfectly fine 2 days ago and as far as I know, there've been no changes to my computer. Grrr!
