I have tried a few. I think I like the Signo the best. But does anyone else seem to think they don't last long? I don't think I use it that much, but I go through them way faster than other pens.

I guess I hadn't noticed that I went through them any quicker. I just know that Signo seems to give the best opaque white color.

While they may be a little more expensive, I feel they are worth it.

A good white gel pen is hard to find. I personally like Martha Stewart's opague white pen, but it goes quickly, too. I use it less, but it's always the one that needs to be replaced.

I recently bought the Gelly Roll 3-pack at Joann's and I love it!! I'm still on my first one and I have used it a lot lately!! Hope that helps!!

I've heard the "new" white Sharpies are what "everyone" is using these days. Apparently, they're in the paint section at M's (not in the scrapping section) and a friend told me they're acid free. I haven't made it to M's yet to get one -- My signo just ran out of ink. I wasn't super happy with it anyway, because it tends to turn pinkish on brown cardstock. Looking forward to seeing others' responses on this thread to see if there really is a great white pen out there :)

I also use the Gelly Roll brand at M's. It works just as good and last longer.

The Signo pens, which are great, come with a plastic lid that snaps over the end to help keep them from drying. They also have a tiny little plastic piece that is over the tip. If you retain those tiny plastic pieces, and replace them over the tip after each use, then also cover with the cap, it will help prevent the pens from drying out and prolong their life. Personally, I find those little tips to be more trouble than they are worth, plus, sometimes when I pull them off, they fly off into nowhere-ville, and I can never find the silly things! Unsure

I'm in the market for a new white pen. Every one of my Signos is plugged. They are whiter than the GellyRoll when they work. The problem is, mine don't work.

Laurie ... here's a tip that may help you unplug your pen ... try heating the metal tip by holding it over a flame, like a match, lighter or candle, for about 5 seconds (CAUTION: be careful to only hold the metal tip over the flame, DO NOT let the flame to touch any of the plastic parts). This helps to melt the plug and allows for an even flow again.

Thanks for all the input! I thought it might just be me! I am going to have to look for the GellyRolls at J's or M's. I didn't know they had them. One of the things that drives me crazy about the pens drying up is that it is hard to find replacements!

I just bought an American Crafts white gel pen that is out-writing all of my signo's (and it was only a buck fifty at my lss!)

I use the souffle pens by Sakura. They show up great on dark paper. You just can't see them that well while they're wet. Laugh They appear as they dry.

I have the Gelly Roll and Signo. Signo has a lot better coverage than the Gelly Roll.

If you think it has a pinkish tint on brown paper you may not be making your marks quite heavy enough and it's just the paper that's showing through.

I had two Signo pens that lasted me over a year before they ran out. And if you've seen my cards on my blog, you'll see that I do a LOT of doodling on them.

One of the pens did have a little problem with the ink flowing smoothly. I just scribbled on a scrap of paper and sort of cleaned off the roller ball in the tip and then it was fine.

Since Sharpie is making a white one, I'll be sure to look for it on my next trip to M's and HL. Wonder if Staples might have them?

the signo turns pink on cm black pages also. no amount of going over it or anything changes it...i haven't tried on brown paper...

I wonder what it is about the white pens that makes them such a problem. Guess I'll try the jelly roll or sharpies.

I like the Signo pen, too. I wasn't all that impressed with the Gelly Roll and I haven't tried the American Crafts one yet.

I think a good white pen is the second hardest thing to find - the first is a good white ink pad! LOL
