FINALLY figured out how to register.
Looks like they are restricting all non Provo Craft Product "Promotions", so I will only be able to post items using those products. I wonder if this includes Magic Colored Pencil/Gamsol and Copic Markers.....
Guess that pretty much leaves me out of the picture except for the embossed cards.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Not sure I will like that very much.

I wonder if they are going to be that strict... I think they don't like SCAL and MTC. And maybe all selling of non Provo Craft products.

By the way I read it and clicked I agree, it says no promotions for non PC products and no advertising, which technically I do every time I post a card with stamp credits and coloring mediums used. Wonder who I would check with to find out...

I've had a heck of a time finding out how to post a reply! Sounds like they are really taking the bull by the horns so to speak ... looks like some of those scrapbook companies that provide us with so many wonderful products are going to have to start a site for everyone if they aren't able to talk about it here. That's too bad since those products really enhance the use of our Cricuts.

Surely, you can continue to post as you have in the past. If they are going to be that strict, does it mean you can't tell that you used a Martha Stewart punch, or Bo Bunny paper?
I don't see anything wrong with the way you've done it in the past. :o)

WOW!! kinda makes you think twice. I thought this was all about sharing cards. Are they really saying you cant tell what put your card all together except for the provocraft products that was used?

I'm thinking they don't want us posting things like "I used S*z*ix embossing plate #14A, which I got on sale at their web site." From now on say "it's embossed".
I could be wrong, but I doubt Provo expects anyone to use ONLY their stuff when creating.

Will you continue to post these cards on your site? I certainly hope so. I enjoy so much seeing your cards and I have to admit I have scraplifted a few. Thanks.

Oh I hope not...do you know how many embossing folders I have purchased because of your beautiful cards???? I would hate for you to feel like you have to restrict your posts too much. That would be a sad day.... Please keep sharing with us.

To be completely honest with you, Susie, I thought of you immediately when people began talking about the restrictions. Your cards are wonderful and are such an inspiration and also use products that some of us would never know about if not for you. Luckily for me your blog is in my favorites so if they "shut you down", I know where to find you. I think they just need to address this all with a statement or what we can show and what we can't, what we can say we used and what we can't. We all use alot of products on our cards that have no connection to provo craft. Laurie

NO WAY! You MUST keep sharing your work!!! The way I see it, you're just posting your work and explaining what you used... if you didn't supply us with details of what you've used and where you found it, then I'd be the first annoying person to ask the question each time you posted a card! You don't profit from showing us your cards so I can't see any problem. I think PC are just trying to have less people building their own businesses on their mb. All you've done is say that you love what you use! We love what you use too!!!

Susie, your question is very valid. I have been wondering the same thing too. Before I signed in for the new board I read the rules carefully. I am confused about what we are allowed to share or not. I am thinking it's the third party software.
You are one of our stars on the Card board. I know PC would hate to lose you.
I have been wondering what the stance is on computer aided die cutters. I understand about not showing creations with some of the other cartridge based die cutting systems. Several of us members use the Cricut and a different cutting system for files we design for example the Pazzles. I hope I don't get my hand slapped for that, lol. Sorry admin if I messed up. Be kind still learning my way around.
It is a good question Susie. Hopefully, one of the Admin's will see it and maybe post a sticky or something with detailed rules.

i sincerely doubt they mean the extremes mentioned here. i DO think projects posted should use at least ONE provocraft product since that is what this board is for. however i seriously doubt they mean no other products whatsoever - that would be silly. i feel quite certain they are trying to cut down on business building/promoting, and cut out promotion of direct commpetitors. this only makes sense to me.
now i feel completely certain that say using spellbinders or explaining how you used a sizzix die perfectly well with your cuttlebug is probably fine because it is in essence promoting the versatility of your cuttlebug. as for something like gamsol and colored pencils - or what stamps or paper you have used i doubt PC will care about that - it is critical in our use of our machines KWIM?
in addition it is QUITE easy to post the products used WITHOUT posting where you got them so as to avoid the whole promotional thing - let's be honest we all know how to use google and can easily find it ourselves.
if you know of a deal on something that can always be posted in the deals thread...
but i guess we shall see, i have posted several threads about some products i have been using in conjunction with my cricut and did post where to find them - i have not heard anything yet but it IS the weekend.
no matter how strict they are with saying what you used or where you got it from it doesn't mean you have to quit posting projects - EVERY project is going to use other products in addition to PC products - i rarely put additional info about non cricut stuff i used on my projects - it is easy enough to go to the person's blog if you really want to know OR just ask!
i bet it will be fine (even tho i DO enjoy the enabling and buying/selling here but i understand PC's stance - it is the same on other boards so nothing out of the ordinary really.)

I completely agree with Marti's interpretation. All of those products, like gamsol and colored pencils, punches, etc, only serve to enhance our PC products, not replace them. They just don't want posts about direct competitors.

I certainly hope they're not that strict, but honestly it wouldn't surprise me. Susie, we all know where your gallery is, don't worry, we'll meet up with you there. I hope PC uses common sense in this situation.

I also posted what I used. That will be very sad if we are unable to give credit for STAMP for heaven's sake.

Just keep posting, Susie. You'll know soon know how strict these new rules are. Thank goodness you have a website 'cause I'd hate to miss any of your creations. PJ (Jessie Adams) Edited by user Monday, September 20, 2010 7:41:48 AM(UTC)

hi, since i don't post often....i usually lift (thank you!) and mine aren't as good as those i lift! my cards are usually simple and don't use a lot of other product because i'm not taht creative, that's why i lift! anyway, bottom line is i agree with swim mom and marti. if they were that strict there would be no message board because there is no way only pc products could/would be used.... just my thoughts. barb

I posted a card today and mentioned that I also used a House Mouse stamp, Copic markers and Nesties. I wonder if my post will eventually be deleted? I am a cardmaker foremost (before buying my Expression). If I can't use my stash of embellishments on my cards, I won't be posting here any longer. I bought the Expression to enhance my cardmaking, not to be bound by it. I hope you keep posting Susie - I love your cards and you 're such a creative inspiration!!!!!! Welllllll, hmmmmmmmmmm. The main reason I post where I get my products is because everyone asks....and it is easier for me to just post the info each and every time but, in order to keep coming here for all of the rubber hugs and inky kisses I get, I will comply. I will just link to my site so you can find out where to buy those items. I do agree that my cards alone may have sold more product than their advertising but in order to keep the peace, I will do as asked. There was some rumbling early on about this very subject and I thought it was supposed to be about cardmaking, but it looks like the MB police don't approve, and I would hate to get banned....
I have not posted anything for over a week now because I have been super busy preparing for my Used Stamp Sale on Oct 1-2. I must have 4000+ stamps and it has taken me this long to get everything priced. (OOPS! maybe I shouldn't have "advertised")
If you hear anything else, let me know. I have a feeling this will surface again. In the meantime, carry on, peeps!
