I heard that construction paper sticks to the mat too much, so can you cut it?

After 1 piece, the mat was totally covered with the little construction paper fibers. I had to clean the mat and resurface it with tacky glue. I searched YouTube on how to clean and restick the cricut mat. I don't recommend cutting construction paper with the cricut. Mary

My blade doesnt cut construction paper well. Tried once, never again. Card stock is best, but I have used scrapbook paper and it sometimes messes up on cutting and sometimes not.

I agree with the other two posts; cutting construction paper is not recommended. The construction paper will stick to and mess-up your mat and it does not cut well. Just about any other material can be used successfully.

I have been using construction paper for all my school projects since I got my first machine. It really depends on the construction paper. My school uses TRU-RAY and Pacon construction papers. Some schools use cheaper construction paper and the better construction paper cuts fine. I do have to clean off the mat after so many cuts. And I just put the mat under running water and gently rub off the paper fibers. The mat is then sticky again.
Some people say they laminate the construction paper before they cut and it works well that way for them.
I have pressure and speed low and blade on 3 or 4 depending on how long I've been using the blade.

I laminate construction paper before I cut it. I set the multi-cut to at least 2 (I use design studio) and it works great. A lot of my work is for bulletin boards at school, so it is perfect for me. So much easier than trying to laminate my projects afterwards.
