Is there an easy way to cut layers of items? Many have layers, do I just cut separately on other paper and glue together? Help

Some layered cuts are easy and some are complicated, hate to say it, but it's true! What I usually do is decide my colors, find pieces of paper or CS large enough for all the parts, try to fit them on one mat, and start cutting. Gluing is pretty easy, and I use the Zig 2-way glue (sometimes called blue glue). Hope this helps! Robyn at www.mypinkstamper.com has some great videos that she cuts with layers. Jen

Certain cartridges you cut a shadow and glue everything to it... like the disney friends one... cut background in black....

and you will find the 'older' carts have more tiny cuts to be glued...lik Mickey and Friends. I've lost Mickey's tongue countless times.... LOVE the Create-a critter as the cuts are so much easier. My granddaughters (ages 9 and 11) love it too.... just takes time and practice....

Some of the haevily layered carts should be labelled "Experienced". Especially the Disney carts (except maybe the Disney Fonts, Wild Card (it was hard for me to figure out the "bits" till I had made a lot of cards and stumbled across Creations with Christine and Flowerdisco's Scrap Shack.) and Spongebob spring to mind.
Practice with some easier ones like Create-A-Critter, Stretch Your Imagination. The old messageboard has the cartridge forum so you can see examples of the cartridge you are working with, just remember to set the topic range fom "last 30 days" to all.
The first time I put something together with a lot of pieces I usually do a "practice" run, and not my specially bought for this special event paper lol. Less pressure, more success (for me anyway).

Sometimes I'll cut everything with white paper and color & stamp individually to create the look I want. Depends on what you are cutting. Usually the bigger your object the easier it will be to layer!

Love my xyron for layering. The small sticker one works great for layering or the 5" one.

I agree with the Xyron suggestion. It can make life a lot easier. Also get an adhesive eraser if you get one..and use it to remove the excess before you take it off of the white backing material...just seems to work better that way. Some cartridges are harder to figure out then others. I have the handyman one and there was a little piece that i had no idea what it was for...thankfully someone on the Mb helped me!

I love carts with they layers feature! I think it really adds dimension to your project when the images aren't all one color. Part of the reason I went with Cricut over the Slice, which I briefly considered.
They are a bit difficult to get used to, but just use the handbooks to see what all gets cut out for a particular image, determine your paper colors, and you can put more than one piece of paper on your mat to make it a little faster of a process.
