Am I limited to only the cartridges that come with the Design Studio or is there a way to import other cartridges/images? Thanks!

You can update it to include all the cartridges. Go to: http://www.cricut.com/cds/Update.aspxHope that helps

But... you have to have the cart plugged into your machine for it to cut.
