I always get very frustrated when using my cricut. How on earth do you figure out how to use each cartridge when there are no instructions? I cut a 4.5 butterfly using the card feature. I need to place this square onto a card foundation. I cut a foundation at the same size (4.5). It does not fit exactly and the base did not cut perfectly square. I ended up just cutting my own card template and pasting the cricut cut out onto this. I am beyond frustated.

Hi! I found this happens on a lot of the older cartridges, Walk in My Garden, and Life's a Beach. My work around is to either cut the base myself, which works okay, or I use my Gypsy to adjust sizes. Not always perfect either.
Honestly, I don't use the cartridges for card bases, I'm a A2 size card maker or make custom shapes on my Gypsy. I use the cartridges for images, layers and letters.
Also, if you don't have a Gypsy, Cricut Craft Room will do what the Gypsy does too.
Sorry, I don't have a better answer
