Does anyone have one? What is the difference between this and the original? I've purchased it based on the description on www.cricutmachine.com that it's a mix between the Create and the Expression.

I have the black one and yes it is a step up from the Personal one. It has a few more buttons and the Expression has even more. I bought the Create to take to crops as it is small and most scrap booking that is done you can use the 12X6 mat easily.

I have the black Create. My original pooped out and was replaced with this one. It is the same as my original. Love the Create as it has many of the features that the Expression does. When buying paper 12x12 will give you double pieces perfect for your machine. And yes, it does work with the Gypsy. Have fun!

I am trying to research the best machine for the right price. Does the create hook up to the computer to use in the craft room just like the mini? Does this machine also take cartridges?

Yes the create works with both the craft room and design studio. It also works as a stand alone with the cartridges. I love my create - I am on my third one due to warranty work. I love it.
