QUESTION!!
I see that "other goodies" are sometimes put in with the cards. What kind of "goodies". Is there something I could send??

I sometimes add a few puzzle books or decks of cards. It depends on how much room I have, which is usually not much. I've added microwave popcorn and also hotel shampoos/lotions. I would check with your shipper and see what she does and how you can best help her out.

My question is how are these distributed to the troops? Do they fight over the cards they want? Do they draw numbers and select them? I'm just curious as to what happens once our cards reach them!

We have no way of knowing for sure just what happens to the cards when they reach the units, but we have had notes from the contact names telling us they put them in areas where every has access, like the rec rooms or Chaplain's office, etc. We do know they go quickly. A unit is 125-150 men/women. A box of cards is usually 250 - 300 cards.

I have been asked if the troops coming home by the end of this year will affect this program. The answer is NO. Units will still be deployed to Afghanistan as well as other Kuwait and other countries in the mid east and other duty stations.
AS long as we are provided with contact names, we will continue to send cards.

I am so glad I found this board! I love making cards and when I have a purpose it revs my creativity 100x faster than just a free day to craft with no specific thing to do... Also, I love clean simple cards that are still cute but not overly embellished! Way to go on keeping this board going. Keep up the awesome work!
