Has anyone had any luck with these? I am getting a lot of creases in my paper when I run it through the cuttlebug.

I have found that these and the Cut & Emboss (glass looking) folders work best if you use the extended length mats...also makes them easier to insert.

If they are wrinkling, try a KLEENEX on the part that would go INTO your paper... Seems to BUFFER the paper, and then you get a nice Kleenex that's embossed... Please let me know how it turns out for you, I'd love to know/hear about it!!!!! Edited by user Wednesday, April 20, 2011 5:04:03 PM(UTC)

I just tried the extended mats, and the result was the same. Do you have the all in one embossing folder?

I tried the kleenex, no luck, still lots of creases. I guess I'm thinking that for 20 dollars for the base and 20 dollars for a set of folders, that this product would just work. I'm very disappointed!

Which side of the embossing folder did you put it on? It needs to be on the side that goes INTO the paper... (open it up, and put the paper in, then look to see which side goes into the top part? Does that make sense? sometimes I may not type words I mean to say..) The only other thing I can think of is... What kind of paper are you using??? If it's reallllllllllllllllly thick, it does that to me... What lb is it??? Edited by user Wednesday, April 20, 2011 5:18:13 PM(UTC)

I put the kleenex on top of the paper. I can see how this would be beneficial. Unfortunately not with this system.
I have tried all different thicknesses of paper. The lighter the paper the less you see the creases. The thicker the paper the more you see the creases. I don't want to see the creases...Maybe I'm being too picky. I'm just bummed because the concept of the product is SO COOL!

Oh darn it, thought that would help....
I use that method in some Craft Concepts Embossing Folders I got, they are super "pokey" thru the paper and saw this menthod when I was doing my metal projects.. and it realllllllllly helped me, so I didn't get any creases....
*I haven't used it on the 2 in 1, but figured the "concept" was about the same...
Just for sh!ts and giggles, try it on the "OTHER" side of the one you tried it on, see if it works

I tried the other side too...you're not going to believe it...more creases...
Thank you so much for responding to this thread! I appreciate the input. I think that I am just going to have to return the darn thing. I'm totally bummed!

And you did say you tried different paper?? Like copy paper weight??? Some I can only do with the lighter lb'd paper... cause it's just tooo thick.... ~Also, when in doubt, CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE, they may know a trick that someone here hasn't covered!!!! And always glad to help!!!! Edited by user Wednesday, April 20, 2011 5:35:05 PM(UTC)

I have one and love it. I know I used to have creasing issues even with regular folders.
I found that if I cut the paper to the size of the folder so there isn't any extra paper outside the folder, I don't get creases. Also make sure you are only using the B plates. I haven't had any problems with creasing since I beagn doing that.

I did use the b plates as directed. I actually returned the product. I wanted to use it to be able to design my own backgrounds on a card base, and I was simply very disappointed in the quality of this product. I can see that it would work great if you make your paper the same size as the image, but that isn't the way I wanted to use them. I'm totally bummed, it was a very cool concept.

Hi! I eliminated creases useing this sandwich
A plate
B plate
All in one embossing folder (filled with paper and little plates Green down, clear/white up
B plate
Then run it through the Cuttlebug
I only have the Thank You set of plates. I'm hoping one day to find the one or two more sets, and maybe a monogram set.

Yes I have the entire set of All In Ones... Last week JoAnns had 50% off coupons and they took them on every Cuttlebug product, so I got each one for $10. each instead of $19.99 each....great bargain. I have always cut my paper first whenevr using CUttlebug or any other machine with a folder. I have never had a creasing problem....but I wasn't trying to emboss something larger than the plates. I love this system and think it works well.

The A plate is on the bottom.
****************
I thought about the all-one-system and I actually returned them to JoAnn's today, and used the refunded money to purchase a cartridge instead. Martha Stewart Cake, Seasonal. Although I was able to minimize the wrinkles, I still am not thrilled with the system. I think I will wait a year or so and then repurchase if I find some sets I really like, so far the Thank You one was my only choice and not a favorite.

I just bought the Thank you All in one embossing plate. Is there anything else I need to buy in order for this folder to work? Is there a special mat that is needed? Thank you.
