I would love some ideas for Mother's Day. I teach 3 and 4 year olds at daycare. I need something that the kids can do most of it themselves. I also don't want to pay a lot of money cause it will come out of my pocket. Any ideas?

Cheapest thing I can think of is trace their hands and cut out, roll the cut out at the base of the palm and tape to a straw. Then roll the fingers around a pencil to curl the petals. That makes a lily looking flower. You can cut some long, thin green leaves (like daffodil leaves) and tape to the stem. Or you could do that on an ink pen. Might get them at some type of dollar store.

Another cute idea is little baking cups attached to regular baking cups. If you have a picture of the kids, cut the face in a circle and put inside the small cup. I helped a fellow teacher do that for her kindergarten kids last year. If you have access to a printer print the heads of the kids and crop them into a circle to fit inside the smaller baking cup. The kids can do that craft if you use glue sticks.

If you have a cricut you can just cut out various flowers and hearts, polka dots and things like that and make them a card out of construction paper and let them decorate the card with your cut outs. I always save my practice cuts and leftovers for this type of activity. Use scraps if you can and that will save you even more money.
