I just thought I would show off some pictures of my room. I really like to make my room a bright place that feels full of energy. I teach 9th grade English and have enjoyed using my cricut to help create decorations that are educational and creative. My theory is if a student is going to stare at my wall rather than do the assignment, he's going to learn something while he is staring. Hope you like the pics.

Wow! I am majorly impressed. Can I scraplift some idea's? I love the genre tree. That'd be great in a library. Also love the own punctuation.. is that the Hoot cartridge?

You're more than welcome to scraplift anythng you want. I used the create a critter cart for the genre forest and the lite hoot and holler cart for the punctuation.

 Thanks for posting your pictures!! It has given me some ideas for my math, science, and computer classrooms! I used to have a copy of a "Grammar Garden" that was a bunch of planters with plants with lots of flowers and/or trailing vines. Each type of grammar words (noun, pronoun, etc.) was labeled on a planter and examples were on each of the flowers and/or vines. I don't teach English--never have, except in Resource classroom--but I thought it was really pretty, even in black-and-white! I would offer to upload a copy, but I lost it in a house-fire 10 years ago. :-( While teaching Physical Science, I used my Cricut for a play on words to help student remember which ions were positive and which were negative. One was an "anion" (Anne-ion) and the other was a "cation" (cat-ion). Bet you've already guessed what I used. I cut out some cats and put the proper +/- on them (too long ago, so I don't remember which is which as I only taught it one year). I told the students the cat belonged to the "Ion" family, and explained what it meant. By the time I raised the little girl (with the other sign on her), students immediately guessed her name was "Anne" with a last name of "Ion." Some of them moaned and groaned, but said that it would help them to remember! lol All my students know about my "punny" nature, so we make the most of it to help with learning. My oldest daughter is an assistant teacher in the special education department. When I saw the photo of the punctuation board, I just had to make them. I used the Sesame Street Characters holding the signs so the students (middle school range) could have another reminder (Cookie Monster always ASKS where's the cookies for a Question Mark).
When she gets them on the board, I will have her take a photograph to share.
