You have a great room. Organized and so much space! Much nicer than any craft store's work area for crops. Awesome room!

Wow! Awesome room! Where did you get the wall holders that go in those slatted walls? I've only ever seen those in stores.. Love the wall phrase!

Brens_Designs wrote:WOW!!! WOW!!! Awesome room. We have a walkout and I keep thinking I should move my room to the family room and fix it up. You have so inspired me. Hugs from another Michigander!!! The only thing bad about it is that darn staircase. Its a hassle for people to go up and down... at least for the over 40 crowd. lol I was lucky that all the shelving was there when we moved in. The biggest thing I would change is my desk. I want a different one at Target. I'm going to try and sell mine this Spring and hopefully get enough to buy the other! My mind is a bit blank today... but don't you live near Brighton? I'm in Monroe County - not super far away.

grannyemjay wrote:Such a wonderful room! Do you give lessons or do you just have a family / friends that scrap with you? I think I would have to put a cot in there..I wouldprobably sleep there, too! (just incase an idea popped up in my mind)
I just give assistance. On the opposite side of the area there is a sectional couch to stretch out and ponder what to do next... As I get older though if I stretch out for too long I end up falling asleep. Can't get much done that way!

LOL... You do not have a crap room! If it wasn't for the fact that I have the basement and the shelving was already there I wouldn't have all this space. And since it is so large I'm able to "share" my space with some friends. We used to meet at an LSS but when it closed we had to go somewhere... so it ended up to be my house since I had the room. I have a piggy bank on one of the shelves so if someone needs some cardstock or something they just get a couple of sheets and then "feed the pig". It works out for everyone.

:)Khrista The LSS in my area was closing a couple of years ago and I bought the slatwalls, pegs and holders then. There are a few places on line that you can order them. I'll try and find them and post after work today.

newbutterfly wrote:of course this is an awesome room, but it's even more awesome that you have such a great big space that other can join you! The 'feed the pig' thing is a great idea! Thanks... I think one of the most important things about scrapbooking is sharing. I have "my stash" put away but things that I have out are for folks to use and sometimes if I find some embellishments on a great sale I'll hang them up also. I always try and pick up extra cardstock when it is on sale. But sometimes I even break into my stash if someone is looking for "just the right thing". When I would offer up something for someone to use and they wanted to pay me for it I felt awkward. Then one day I saw that pig and new it was just want I needed! Now if someone wants something like cardstock they don't even think about it, they just get up and go get some and then "feed the pig". I'll let it collect for a while and then go buy more cardstock, ink, glue, etc. It works for everyone.

I can just imagine the neighbors wondering what was going on. LOL One of my scrapping friends and I have laughed that if we were younger we could have a scrapping/slumber party. I have plenty of floor space but I am TOO OLD to sleep in a sleeping bag on the floor. LOL So, she just stays until about 4:00am and scraps and then goes home to her comfy bed.
