Our first grader is reading various books in the Magic Tree House series by Mary Pope Osborne as part of her curriculum at school and they are wonderful! Last spring I offered to help her multi-age program's teachers with classroom decorations and they took me up on it. So I have been creating a larger-than-life book "cover" for each of the books the kiddos read. I have had so much fun creating them -- I don't always duplicate the original cover, my cover ideas usually come to me as my daughter and I read the books aloud or I use another illustration. Anyway, I've created covers for the first three using a standard sized poster board (28" x 22"), my Cricut (of course!), ink, chalk, pens and lots of adhesive. If you'd like details on what cartridges I used, drop me a line and I'll give you the info. Thanks for looking! Edited: I can't seem to get the photos to show up. So if you don't want to have to click a million times, go to my blog! Thanks. Edited by user Friday, October 01, 2010 2:49:17 PM(UTC)

The cartridges I used 99% of the time are Paper Doll Dress Up, Pooh & Friends (the tree tops), My World and Plantin SchoolBook. Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my projects! I have posters for books number 4, 5 and 6 in the works and will post them soon!
