I have had my Cricut for about 2 weeks now and seem to already be having blade issues. I went to cut today on a metallic card stock type paper with the blade set on 6 and pressure on high. It would not cut through the paper. Changed it to Max pressure and still not through the paper... I certainly hope the blades on this machine last longer than this!! Or is there something else I need to do and am not seeing or doing correct?? Any help is good... because I really LOVE this machine!! Edited by user Wednesday, December 15, 2010 3:54:50 PM(UTC)

You may need to use "multi-cut" to get through it if it is thick. The blad will not be dull after just two weeks.

If everything has worked fine until now, I would not suspect the blade. If the blade is cutting the paper, just not all the way through, you can use the multi-cut feature to cut it up to three times before it stops cutting. If the blade is not touching the paper, you may need to use the deep cut blade.
Some people have found rubbing the blade with a piece of aluminum foil along the blade helps keep it clean. HTH

I tried the multi cut and that does work. But thing is, it was cutting through this same paper just fine 2 days ago without doing anything special other than max pressure. It is not a heavy or thick cardstock, probably a medium weight with a metallic finish on it. Guess I am frustrated as to what happened because I didn't use the machine since the last time I had cut the same paper.
