On your other post (Nativity Scene) you said you used poster board for sturdiness and I think you glued the pattern paper over it? Shear genius!
Thank you , sure I'll share. I thought about the patterened paper but didn't see anything I liked so what
I did was use Ridgid wrap , cut it in lengths and dip it into a container of water squeese the excess water out'
make sure your board is covered in white glue- cover the whole board. you can shape roads with it or make it bumpy in places then I used 2.5 pks so the board doesn't buckle I painted it with white acrylic paint right away, just globbed it on
Next I reapplied white glue covered it Diamond Dust (michael's)rolled it with a Brayer then finished with Angel Glitter.
Don't move your board for a few days this prevents the board from curling. If it does curl you will have to Gorilla glue another board under it using clamps. I did that with the first one.
I cut half of the plastic packaging from a cricut cartridge for my icerink foundation.--covered with same materials as board-- cut and glued with clear glue a piece of the acrylic from an old 12x12 cricut cutting mat cover
I used air dry plasterscene also for the ski hill covered with same stuff.
winter frolic, winter wonderland, Christmas village , my world for the fences Joy of season cartridges. Sticklers ,flocking , a real clock velcroced the tower shut to access the battery in clock every year.I embossed using cuttlebug, ised candy cane rope/ribbon, Leather reins I glittered, used Jewels for nut cracker and glossy accents for faces to make them stronger.
Drilled holes for my intermittent led lights velcroced the battery packs so they can be put under a table and out of the way. Hope this helps.
