Hello All,

I have recently purchased one of those 10x25 storage houses that you put in your backyard that I would like to use for my "Scrap House". My DH plans to have electrical power ran to it and have it insulated and drywalled. My concern is since it is not attached to the house will my equiment hold up in the winter and summer months with only one of those window units to use "when I am out there". Should I put the time and money into this space? I don't want my investment to be destroyed by the weather. Thanks in advance for your inputs.

HMMMMMM..... I would think if it is insulated you would be ok, but you wouldn't have the heat on when you weren't there. Maybe check and see what the temp. is when heat/cool is off? What a cool idea. Hope it works out. Maybe you could just take one of the rooms in the house and put that stuff outside in the little storage house? Laugh Good luck. Sandy C.

I have thought about getting one for my yard, but since I live in South Louisiana I was worried about temp control too. If I ever get one I was going to get a window unit that heats and cools with temperature control on it. That way when I'm not out there I can run it either on the highest setting or lowest setting to save $ and not have to worry about my stuff getting ruined. I think my biggest concern is humidity.
