I would like to reinforce some cut-outs with foam board but when I attached the board to my cutting mat, it didn't look like it would even fit through the opening on my machine, much less leave enough room for the blade to maneuver. I did a quick search for projects using foam board but it was hard to tell if people were cutting their foam board by hand or actually running it through the cricut. Has anyone else tried this? My foam board is 3/16" and I've installed the deep cut blade...I'm just nervous that the foam board is going to get stuck in my machine.

I doubt that you can cut foam board with the Cricut. I don't think it would fit under the rollers. Try doing chipboard instead. You can always layer multiple pieces together to create a thickness similar to foam board.

We used an exacto knife when my husband made me an ink holder with foam board. Good luck.

I don't think the cricut is capable of cutting foam core. It would probably tear. The best way to cut is to use three passes with a craft knife. The first cut is for the top layer, the second for the foam layer and the third for the bottom layer. Foam core does warp after time.
