I want to use DS to layout and weld fonts... Not a problem. But, I want some of the words to be less than 1". The cartridges say they go down to .25", but I can't figure out how to do that with DS. Any suggestions? Or a setting I've missed?

Write the word(s), them using the right bottom arrow, make it smaller.

type and weld your words like you want in a larger size for easier viewing. You can either type in the the properties box the exact height and width that you want, however I think it will default to no smaller than .5 inch. If that is not small enough, activate the image so that the blue circles are seen. Click on the lower right hand circle (the one with one arrow pointing right and one pointing down)and then move upward toward the upper left and that will resize the image in proportion. You can see the size change in the shape properties box. The center right blue circle will change just the width and the bottom center circle will change just the height.
You may have difficulties cutting an image that small especially if it has a lot of intricate cuts.
