I'm wondering if I'm the only one here.
We had a Michael's Grand Opening the end of August in my city and when I went in they had Cricut Creates on sale for $69. Of course we scooped one up. But my mat that came with it is not sticky AT ALL. I have ruined so many sheets of paper. I should have just returned the whole thing, but didn't cause I found it a little silly to return for that. But I've used it now about 20 times and I literally have to TAPE paper to my mat to get it to cut. I'm going to the store today to buy new mats, but still...
has this ever happened to you?

I have a Create also, but fortunately I have never had a problem with the mat. I would be like you and buy more mats at WM not M's (cheaper). Good luck!!

yep provocraft has been known to send replacements for defective mats. but also remember your mats won't last forever and will need replacing over time!! Looks like we aren't far from eachother. Welcome to wonderful world of cricut

Looks like we aren't far from eachother. Welcome to wonderful world of cricut Thanks!! Yes, I'm right here in SO. FL. I'm sorta new here as well. Homeland Tampa!! But we moved back in March for DH's promotion...... I replaced several mats for our expressions, but my create mat came out of the box not sticky. I tried a few of the techniques some other ladies mentioned on another thread and it didn't work. So I went and bought more because PC is closed til Monday and I needed to scrap NOW!

You can also purchase the Crafters Companion sprays at Custom Crops to restick your mats. I've done that when my mats lose their sticky to get the most use out of them!

I use the crafters companion stick and spray when my mats stop being sticky its fab.......I am only on my 2nd mat in over a year and only ditched the first one as it got badly scored when I put the pressure up too high on a real intricate cut....I live in England and have to wait till I come to America to stock back up as stuff over here is at least 3 times your pricesEdited by user Sunday, September 19, 2010 4:37:02 AM(UTC)

Wow, you got a great deal on your Create! I use Krylon Easy Tac repositionable adhesive spray on older mats. I think I found it in M's. Just make sure you mask off the edges when you spray (where the little rollers will roll over it).

I think the mats have a quality assurance problem...this happens intermittantly with the mats......wishing they would be put mats on the rewards points.....

I had this problem when I bought my expression. I just used my Jumbo Tip 2 Way glue pen and made it sticky again.
