 How do you remove excess glue from projects? Sometimes I get it on the top of items and I think it makes my project a bit messy.I read somewhere that there are erasers you can purchase. Can someone tell me where to buy them or what they are called?

There is an adhesive remover available. kind of like a rubber eraser, mine is square in shape. I think mine is made by Zyron, but I can't remember. I got mine at Archivers, but I know I have seen them in other places. Maybe even J's, and I am pretty sure M's.

I have one of these erasers too...mine is blue and kind of crayon shaped...works well too, but I don't remember where I picked it up. I try to clean up excess glue when it's wet too with that tool (maybe by quickuts) that has a plastic chisel type end--that works well to scape wet glue right off. (the other end has some tacky stuff to pick stuff up with--sorry for my lack of knowledge on the specifics of this tool! lol!) HTH!

EK makes the crayone shaped ones. I have a blue one and a dark pink one.
Xyron makes a nubby square one that works well for larger cuts. I wouldn't use it on a delicate cut unless you are very careful because you can rub the cut right off! (Not that I have ever done THAT!! LOL) There is another brand of the nubby square one, but I can't remember the name. It looks exactly the same though.
 You should be able to find one or the other at M's, J's, or your local craft store. I think I picked one up at Target a few years ago.Edited by user Saturday, September 25, 2010 9:31:53 AM(UTC)

If you use the Xyron, the glue can run from the edges when you place your cut on your project.
I use a sandwich bag and place it on my hand like a glove. The saran picks the wet glues right up off your project. Usually, you can dab down rather hard (not wiping side to side) and pull straight up. The glue will come up. Be sure to slide the wet part of your "glove" over a little before dabbing down again, to keep from getting wet glue somewhere else you don't want it.
If you let the glue get dry, though, good luck.
I have also used this on other glues I use.
Other posters (when I first came to the old MB) said they used a piece of saran wrap and I didn't have any, so I used the sandwich bag.

I have been looking for these products for a while now, and can't seem to find them in stores. I don't want to buy them online, but I guess that may be the only choice I have at this point.

I ordered a Xyron one from Walmart.com. Because at the time no one in knew what i was talking about. I have since found them at the LSS.
I have found that if you are using a 1.5 inch xyron...that if you turn it upside down before you take off the clear top piece and rub it gently on the table that helps. Then after i remove the clear sheet i use the eraser to blot around my objects before removing them from their backing (this is great when you are doing letters that have openings in them like "O" and "R")
when using the larger xyron i just blot around the edges of my objects before removing the backing from them

Try using baby wipe or Lysol wipe gently (just dap top of your item)

I use the Xyron adhesive eraser. It's a must in a crafter's toolbox. I got mine at JoAnn's online. I bet the JoAnn's stores carry them. I would try scrapbook or where they keep the glue in general crafts. My JoAnn's in town is a treasure trove but the size of a walk-in closet. They don't carry a lot of items that the lucky ladies and guys here have at their JoAnn's.
