I was browsing through all my cricut cartridges yesterday and came to conclude I really like the full version of the previous cricut cartridges (previous to the release of the 100 new cartridges). I found they were really loaded with features and options. I’m getting tired of the almost similar birds, owl, sun, keys and facial expression, to name a few of the repeated images that seem to have the newest cartridges. I guess that is an excellent reason to stop my spending trying to collect them. Do you feel the same???
Anyone knows how many of the 100 have been released???

There has definitely been too much of the same stuff being introduced. I actually love birds and owls and cutesy animals, but even I have enough already.

I have definitely noticed a difference in the designs on the newer cartridges, they have overdone some images but more importantly I think the "artwork" has not been as good as it used to be. IMO

Haven't counted but I'm sure they're close for 2010... I agree that prior to 2010 the carts were chock full of images and I would love to see the newer carts with more, however I'm loving the more intricate cuts on the new ones. I've been playing with Happy Hauntings, Oct 31st and Pumpkin Carvings for about 3 weeks now and I just love the detail of the images.

I also believe less is often better. I have only 9 carts, & maybe I'll get one more to have an even 10, but I'm in no hurry--I just don't want alot of carts--the storage issue & I think I have a good combination to create with.Edited by user Sunday, September 26, 2010 9:10:22 AM(UTC)

Some I am liking like the Happy Hauntings, some of the lites and the seasonal carts. But I am totally agree with you about the images that are being over done to death. I also don't like so many carts being released so fast.

I agree. I like the older carts much better. The newer carts seem really cutesy and overdone. I'm not into cutesy. You can only do so much cutesy before puking!! LOL!! I do like Happy Hauntings and Mini Monsters and I only bought 3 of the lites. If they came out with some more of the lites that interested me I'd buy them. I don't use every single cut on a cart and the lites kinda have just enough. The price could come down a bit on them, but heck, I'm not complaining.

I love the old carts too. Lots of choices on them. I wish PC would make carts more like Create A Critter too. So simple to put together.

They have come out with alot of carts this year, I am sure pc will reach their goal. On HSN Jinger said they are coming out with another 100 carts this next year. What could they possibly be? Of course, that includes the cake machine, cricut, and the Imagine, lots will probably be for the Imagine and just pattern carts for the Imagine.

I totally agree! Even though some of the older carts had images that were kind of hard to put together (some Disney stuff comest to mind ), the newer carts are almost too simplistic! It's like all carts are lite carts.
Also, I like some cutesy images, but not all cutesy! The owls and birds and cupcakes are cute for cards, but I truly think we have enough. I make a lot of cards, but I also scrapbook. It seems to me that there are not as many scrapbooking images out there. I need stuff for high school kids (drama, honor society), stuff for vacations, etc. Not cutesy or whimsical please!
Maybe they need more variety on their design teams??
