It's been a while since I have used Design Studio... but I wanted to cut an image larger than the mat, in 2 parts. My Expression works fine with CCR, but says 'cricut not recognized, unplug all USB's except Cricut and try cut again'... when I tried to cut with DS.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

You can't have CCR and DS open at the same time. Was that the problem?

I was having this problem, too. Decided to cruise the forums to see if I could find an answer before I had to call customer service.

THANKS Scrapalette for the answer to my problem!! Closed out CCR, still had a little difficulty getting the E to cut. Turned off my machine, closed out DS and reopened, then it would cut just fine. Never would have figured out it was because I also had CCR open.

It's a really old software program that is installed on your computer. No internet access is required to use it.

You probably won't be able to find a copy, but if you do, it only works with machines created before the Expression 2. The original, create (I think), and Expression work with it. The Mini, Imagine, Expression 2 and the new Explore will not work with it.

The features available are limited, but you can "design off the mat." People use it to make swing cards out of just about any image.

You'll need your cartridges in the slot on your machine or use a juke box because you cannot link carts to it.

Not sure if it will work with Windows 8. It works with window XP and I have windows 7 and have designed in it but not tried to cut.
