Not sure if this is normal or not, but I recently ordered the Cricut Sampler cartridge from the cricut website. When I received it, it was open. No wrapping, no plastic case/wrap and the book was damaged. Cartridge had some scratches and hairs on it. It literally looks like a used cartridge.

I would definitely give customer service a call...that doesn't sound right and I am sure they would want to know how things are being shipped out to customers...yuck!

I believe the sampler cartridge (from what I've read on other websites that sell cartridges) this is one that wasn't the plastic clam shell, but the hairs and damaged book sound odd. I would call CS and please come back and let us know what they say.

Thanks, I'll give them a call later today. I haven't even tried the cartridge to see if it works but I'm assuming it does (hoping!). And lately when I've bought new cartridges, they come with a sticker covering the bottom of the cartridge unless its a older cartridge off ebay or something so when I got it and it was open (no plastic shell) i went huh...? and then no sticker and the damage I had to look again at the return to make sure this wasn't something I ordered off Ebay and forgot about haha. As long as it works i'm happy, was just wondering if it was normal for them to not come in plastic or some type of packaging. The hair and damage to the book though is not normal :/ Thanks again for the replies!

That does sound strange. Our awesome Customer Service rep should be able to help you with that.

I, too, ordered the Cricut Sampler, and it came the same way, minus the damage and the hairs. I checked the cart out in my machine right away, and it works fine. I would call customer service in your case, though. Your cart should not have arrived with a wig and damaged book. GG

You might want to also connect it to CCR and make sure it's not already linked (to a Gypsy), especially since it arrived in that condition.
