Pam - I quoted this because I want to be sure I'm understanding what you're wanting to do...so, I need to reread and reread! LOL. I a slow learner!

You can change the COLORS on the mat in CCR to outline only. I love to work with outline only, because when I turn on all the mat layers I can line things up together and make sure I have them sized the way I want them.

OUTLINE ONLY....You have to go on each mat layer you have created to do this:

Use the dropdown arrow on each tab.
Select: Color
Select: The white square with the red slash through it
Click on APPLY and Close.

I like to turn all the GREEN eyes OFF (click on it) except the mat layer I'm working in....usually the main mat layer. I try to place EVERYTHING on that first mat layer that I'll need for my project.....except, I do usually add things later on. But, for image layers, it's best to lay them all on at the same time and work with all of them if you want to resize.

THEN, if I have something on that first mat layer I need to move to another (or new) mat layer, I hit the plus to make a new mat layer AND/OR, I get the handles around the image I want to move and in the square on the image, I left click. You should see a new menu....select COPY.
Now, go up and turn off the eye on the mat layer you're in and turn on the eye in the mat layer you want to paste to and click on the name until it turns white. Now, hit PASTE. Wait a few seconds. Sometimes they pop right in; other times it takes ten, fifteen, twenty seconds. Most times they pop right in.

BEFORE I say anything else, is this what you're wanting?

D - Do you IMAGINE users ever use OUTLINE? I guess I can't see how using all that color helps you see what you need to see. Just wondering.

I like to use the colors for my layers when designing.
I haven't tried outlining.

What do you mean, they revert back to their original size?

Do you know that when something goes wrong, you can use the curved arrows at the top menus to GO BACK to where you were to start the process again? Just thought I would throw that in there.

Again, I don't have an IMAGINE, but I can try to do what you're doing by selecting the IMAGINE mat. Let me go size an elephant up to 12X12 (a little less, since we can't go 12X12, actually, and see if the ears can go crazy for me.

I'll come right back.....can you give me anything else to go on. Maybe REVERT won't work. Are you getting the elephant past the yellow markings on the mat?

IF THE EARS ARE SEPARATE (I can't picture this yet, just bring up CCR, but I'm thinking in mid-air here) FROM THE BODY when you are resizing, be sure you are selecting EVERYTHING (box around all images) and GROUPING them BEFORE you resize and rotate to 12X12 (less). Not sure you can do that in IMAGINE, though.

Last night I finally gave up. I cut it out as a whole instead. Since it was in pieces, I had to put together like a puzzle. I glued the main pieces onto coordinating card stock (like brown for the lions' mane) and put it together. I then hand trimmed away the excess paper.

The link didn't work last night but the new one worked this morning. I printed out the instructions and hope to go back a correct these animals. I have arthritis in my hands and that is why I have the Cricut (besides wanting it LOL).

Narelle - Thanks for this tutorial. I have never taken the time to look at the tutorials (don't have time....lol)! BUT, this is very interesting to me and I appreciate the information. Didn't know you could do what you can do...and, I know I need loads of instruction! Just never thought I wanted to take the time and was happy not knowing a lot. I'm not going to say lol there, because it's not funny.
