Sherrie, just a friendly reminder that you granted a RAK to COB for oranges. I'm assuming you'll get this mailed out too when you are mailing other swaps by end of week... And sorry to hear that you became sick keeping you away from your mom. Edited by user Tuesday, February 12, 2013 5:48:28 PM(UTC)

Heat embossing gets easier and really looks nice Ask Gwynne, she's a pro at it Yes, I did forgot to ask for my color!!!! How about white? I love the white on white look I don't need regular cardstock but if you have some leftover fancy white paper, that would be great. Anything for use on card would be super also. Thanks

I do think using embossing powder on a stamped verse is easy!
I mostly use clear EP, so you don't have to worry about forgetting to wipe off the CS first with the cornstarch pouch, cuz clear doesn't show up if any little bits of powder stick to the CS in places it shouldn't be.
Now, when I'm embossing with gold EP or other colors...then I have to practically tie the cornstarch pouch to my finger to remember to wipe down the CS before I start stamping. I swear I get the pouch out and set it right there...then I must let my mind wander and next thing I know I'm stamping and never did wipe down the paper first! lol It saves a hassle if you remember to wipe down the paper first, for sure! Luckily, most times you can blow it away or just use tip of a little paint brush to catch the powder and push it away.
My other tip is that it's not the EP that is the problem but it's the quality of the stamp that causes me more issues. Even if I wasn't embossing, and just plain stamping, some stamps just don't stamp correctly, no matter whether you press lightly or hold down firmly or stamp on hard table or stamp on a stamping pad. THose are the stamps that you just throw away!
Sometimes changing your stamping block too makes a difference. If the block is too large or the wrong shape, you just can't seem to stamp a sharp, clean look.
I don't think I've ever burnt a piece of paper either with my heat gun. But that is always a warning about heat embossing and stamping.
And when I turn on the heat gun and start to melt the EP, I just cock my head to the side so that I'm looking at the stamped verse from a side look...maybe it's cuz the lamp is also in that line of vision, but for what ever reason, it's how I do it... I don't look straight down at the verse....and I can watch or see the EP start to melt and get all shiny looking. Hard to explain....
Also, I make sure it's melted all the way.....you can be watching it and think it's melted all the way but then you run your heat gun back over it and you can see it melt even more and get nicer looking. I don't know how else to explain that, but it is just so obvious to watch it happen. I often wonder if maybe it has something to do with as your heat gun heats up it does a better job...so that's why I always am sure to go back to my starting point and zap it some more. (and like I said, I have yet to burn my paper)
Also, I tend to move my gun around in a constant motion....probably a small circular motion.
I also tend to use top quality CS too (heavy weight).
That's my feedback for today!
I love to heat emboss and do emboss probably 99% of any of my stamped verses or words. I just think it's 2 minutes of extra work that makes a huge difference on a card.

Rhonda, I mailed you some metallics today.
There has been no communication from fiftyshadesofpaper since granting the RAK, so I'm assuming she has flaked. People like her ruin it for the rest of the newbies cuz now I will add a new rule stating that you must have 50 posts before you can participate in this RAK.
I may also advise the person mailing to the new swapper to not mail out a pkg. to her until we know the person the new swapper granted to has received the RAK.
So, it will cause confusion at times, unfortunately.

I just rec'vd this PM from 50shadesofpaper this morning.....and she asked me to post that the ***BLACK*** items arrived.... Hi Rhonda, I am away on business (and have been for a bit) in a kindof remote area so I am having a hard time signing in and accessing certain things in the cricut website especially the message boards for some reason. But I did not want anyone to worry so I am forwarding you the order / payment and shipping information for the Feb Happy Mail swap. If you want to and you send me your email I can forward the actual CONFIRMATION email stuff for scrapbooking sent me. I paid for priority shipping so she should have it in no time:) Also your "metals" package should be arriving Monday or Tuesday (I hope you like it!!) I will be back on Friday but if at all possible can you post on the color rak/swap that I messaged you and thank her for the "black" package, my husband said it arrived. THanks and I will post everywhere on Friday when I arrive. AnnaGwynne.....THANK YOU For stepping in for the METALLICS....I can return them as soon as I rec'v them...since she said mine are on the way. THanks sooo much for STEPPING in to do this. I truly appreciate that. Smiles rhonda

Just keep them Rhonda...I only sent some metallic papers, not all that much...
And I figured we'd hear from her once we posted she had flaked. But she still broke the rules with no communication and went way over the alloted time and is banned from this swap.

Well, I am glad we heard from her, and that she is OK. I want to personally apologize to fiftyshadesofpaper for assuming the worse. I think many of us have been flaked on too often and it tends to make us gun shy. Sorry for the changes this has created in the Swap as well, and that other arrangements could not have been made. GG
