Any Ideas on how to sharpen my cricut blades?

They really are quite cheap... I replace mine every time my paper/card stock starts tearing.

I fold aluminum foil in to a few layers, then poke the blade through it several times. This sharpens it a little bit. There was a post not too long ago by someone who had used a power tool to sharpen her blade, but I do not remember the name of the tool or the poster. I will see if I can find it. I would be careful doing anything that would void your warranty if your machine is still under one. I would think sharpening your blade would do so. HTH. [size=6]I just read in an earlier post that someone cut shapes to use later out of glitter paper. She said the glitter paper seemed to sharpen her blade. I haven't tried it but I do cut sandpaper when I want to sharpen my kitchen scissors so this sounds like it just may work. Good luck!

I bought one of my CRICUTs in 2008; the other in 2010. I have used both of them quite a bit and still use the original blades in both. I have cut glitter paper in both machines from time-to-time. I have bought a new blade (at one point), but I ended up putting the original back in the machine. So, I have a spare blade if I ever need it.
I will say this, though. I only cut paper, vinyl and glitter paper on my machines with my blades. I have never tried plastic or cardboard or anything other than what I said, previously.
Can't imagine the differences and why some have more problems than others do with their blades.
