Boy oh boy did I rack up today, LOL!! Got a whole bunch of stuff I didn't need and saved a lot of money and spent a lot of money . So here is what I got, a couple of spellbinders grand nestabilities dies for $4.49. I nabbed the circle and oval scalloped ones. Next I got two refills for my 1.5 inch xyron for .89 cents, I also got a lot of recollections bling for .29 and .39 cents. They had the coordinating ribbon, flowers, flourishes in all the colors. They had washi tape in a ton of colors for .69 cents. I also grabbed a couple of DCWV stacks for $2.40. Let's see I brought the long cutting plates and adapter for the cuttlebug which rang up $3 and two sets of cuttlebug folders which rang up $1.99. I got the 4 in a pack that coordinates with create a critter, give a hoot and art deco. Picked up some ribbon for .14 cents too!!! They even had valentines stacks by k and company for $1.79 Boy oh boy the sales are fantastic!! Now I just have to organize and use everything! It doesn't do any good to go to our local Michael's (45-min drive one way)! I can go in on Monday morning (early) and almost every peg that has a discounted price on it is EMPTY.
It has happened a lot of times to me.
I wonder if they ever really had even ONE item on those spindles?
Our local Michael's AND Jo-Ann' seldom have discounted areas, either. I hate going into both of them anymore. AND, I have never enjoyed going in HL that much. The sales don't happen in Central Illinois, as far as I can see?
Anyone get any bargains in Central Illinois this week?
Char

That sucks Char. I am originally from Illinois so I have lots of family that still resides in the Chicago area. My aunt tells me all the time that they closed all of the local Michaels near her and that she has to travel about 45 minutes just to go to any craft store. I can't imagine doing that since when I go to Archivers its about a 20 minute drive so I don't go that often.

We go about once a month (sometimes, twice) when we have other things to do. I rarely go more than that. While we do still have those stores, they never have a CLEARANCE area like they used to (Ms and Js). HL Still does have their CLEARANCE area; but, I rarely see anything there I want/need! Char

Char Our Michael's moves the Clearance section around every so often. I wish they would leave it in one place. JoAnn's changed theirs recently and it's such a mess that it's hard to find anything. Maybe they're trying to discourage use of it...who knows?

I went back to Michaels today and racked up again!!! The entire clearance section was an additional 90%! People got picture frames that were regularly $100 for $10. It was crazy in that store like Black Friday in January! I got so many deals guys its a shame! Recollections markers for .50cents and a paper trimmer for$2.00, picture frames for .40cents and stickers, bling for.9cents. DCVW paper stacks for .80 cents! I will need to post pictures soon!! I even got a glass bowl for .50!

LOL sounds like you had fun shopping. :) My JoAnns is closing/moving to a larger store & I got there a bit late being there wasn't a lot left. I did manage to find a few goodies though, most everything was 50% off. The store was over half gone. I kicked myself for not getting there sooner. It's so exciting to find new scrapping/card making/crafting goodies isn't it?

I just had to go - not, but I did. The store nearest my house had so much ticketed as part of the sale an equally large amoount of clearance that was void of the blue or red tag. I also saw much clearance scattered within the deapartment that simply missed the ticketing process. I bought far too many bling on a roll but at 14 cents a pack, who could blame me. I found Smooch spritzs and inks for $.79. I also found couple of Sizzix dies, Hello Kitty FAiry and a haunted house, all for $1 each. Select colors of MArtha Stewart glitter were $.35. The punches and paper pads were not included - yet. It was tons of fun browsing through all the baskets. I went to two other nearby Michaels and they had virtually nothing. None of the items included at the first store were part of the sale at either of the later stores. My best find was a Leather We R Memory album for $.70. I have no idea why as it is a new item but I wasn't arguing. Edited by user Thursday, January 31, 2013 9:24:23 PM(UTC)

Awesome finds especially on the We R album. The Michaels closest to my house wasn't offering the additional discount on everything. Just specially marked items. The sales clerks were not happy because they had to manually input the discount. I was so glad that I was able to get such fantastic deals!! A lot of ladies were getting picture frames for $5 that would normally sell for $100 and some were $1!

It never ceases to amaze me how the same store can have such different sales at each store. I am lucky in that I have 4 within easy driving distance. One did not have much of anything even left, one I raked in some smaller items and spent a whopping $13 for about 60 items. This one was allowing 90% on anything with a sale ticket on it not just the special red sticker. Neither had the long plates or spacer.
I went to the third because I called and they had the spacer and B plates so I had them hold until I could get there. I called the fourth and they had the C plates so I had them hold that one. I got to the third store and the plates were not on clearance they were still regular price so I didn't get them. They would only allow 90% on the special red sticker items. I called the fourth to see if the C plate was clearenced and they said it was regular price as well so I told them to take it off hold.
So long story short, the one item I wanted (extended cuttlebug plates and spacer) I didn't get but I did get some items I normally wouldn't buy but couldn't pass up.

I too got a ton of stuff. It was amazing and almost made me giddy.
I got some cricut cartridges for $2.90. I even went out of my way to hit a second store and was extremly upset when they told me the large rack of cartridges was included in the sale and then they rang up for the normal price. I told them they said they were included and that they were included in the southside store's sale prices but they said it depends on how many they have in stock and varies by store. That is why I never go to that store. The cashier was super snotty.

Guess I waited too long to get in on the good stuff. I did get some great prices on stamps...29 cents...57 cents...etc. that we're originally up to $7, which I would not have paid. The new $1, $2, spots were full of new things though.

I wasn't going out today but couldn't pass up a sale. Glad I did because I was able to get two VAGABOND's for $20.90 each. My daughters will be so happy to get these. Most of the time I find nothing but today was good!!!!

I did get some good buys- but each store had different items, some the same but nobody here had Xyron refills clearanced cheaper, most had the Inkadinkadoo Scrapping Gear clearanced- most was gone but got a bit, the rest at the store where it wasn't. One had the $1.99 Wilton clearance at 90% off made it all 19 cents. I also got MS yarn at one, my favaorite didn't need item- a John Wayne Poster for 69 cents! I got some rubber stamps, ome had some glitter paper- a few sheets, some eyelets, Jolees pendants under a buck. Some old Yudu left over. Some books that I know that one store had clearanced for over 5 years and never marked down. My biggest complaint that at one a store employee in line behind me- commented about her stuff- Ott Lite, 5 Fiskars cutters, $50 Wilton pans sets, etc. she had on hold (until this went 90%) off- right in front of us all (a big overloaded cartfull). Sure I would have liked one too. Also after asking the employees if this was all they had and told yes this employee with the cart pointed out to another about a cartload of ribbon and jewwlry for her to buy from. Boo hiss on bad taste fro that store. I told another employee later that I thought it was handled badly. But all in all I says Thanks- I got soem things I really didn't need cheap! LOL! BJR.

BJR, That really stinks! At some stores employees aren't even allowed to pick a selection prior to it going on sale and they can't shop while they are on the clock. That isn't fair! I don't like the fact that some stores were giving the extra 90% off all red tagged clearance items and others were not. AT the store I was in, one of the cashiers informed another cashier that the manager had gotten a email from corporate saying that the sale was over. Then they announced that they would honor the discount to those of us that were in the store but after us they would no longer honor the discount. Plus, not all stores were honoring the discount. IMO, they didn't expect such a huge turnout and felt like they were missing out on money. I am sure that I have $100's of dollars worth of merchandise but I have spent $1,000 of dollars or more in Michaels. We deserve to get a discount every now and then. They only offer it once a year and why not let it be good! The last time Michaels had really good things on sale was when they had the cricut cartridges for $9.99 and that was 2 years ago. I think we all should flood there corporate office with letters about our experiences and complaints! Without consumers they have no business! Anyway, enjoy your goodies!

Just in case you didn't know at least at our M's the clearance that was left is back to what it is priced. But they have marked items down in the aisles after the sale. BJR.
