 I am new to Cricut: I just received my new Cricut Mini from HSN and did the sample cut and it would not cut through the card stock. I tried other card stock thinner and thicker and changed the setting for each. Nothing will cut. Is this machine supposed to cut properly out of the box? I saw no other blades included in the package that allowed me to do this! ?? Thanks, Linda

Yes, it should be cutting through cardstock. Did you adjust the pressure? It might be set too low.

Also make sure the blade is in correctly, is the blade at least touching the paper?

Hi, I followed all the instructions I tried all different papers and set it to the pressure specks per cricut I removed the blade reinserted the blade. The first Thank you cutting test did not cut. Clearly, it is the blade. I borrowed a blade from my daughters Expression II. It cuts but not well. I decided to send this machine back and am purchasing a Silhouette. No product should leave the manufacturer unless its been tested and inspected. This machine is defective and I refuse to purchase parts to make it work the way it should have out of the box. While I expect to replace the blade after general use, not on the first cut! Thanks everyone for your assistance. Linda
