I can swear that my craft room is shrinking in size. The once open shelves seem so tiny and crammed. The drawers are packed...I could of sworn they were bigger. The floor space once open now is a land mine of scrapping goodies that you have to carefully step over.
I have decided this year I would try a new strategy...I will need to make 15 items before buying something new (the only exception is consumables such as adhesive, cricut matts). I am setting a $25 dollar limit on something new for myself (you can set your own limit). Then I have to use what I bought in the next 15 items. I will post my 15 projects here. There is no time limit and once you do your 15 you can always start on your next 15.
Anyone up for joining me in the challenge?
K

I am up for this challenge. I have only been buying adhesives for almost a year now and trying hard to use paper and embellishments from my overwhelming stash. I also quit buying carts and using the ones I have. I need to make some birthday cards for a group I belong to and those will probably be my first 15 items.

So do you mean 15 different items? What if I'm making cards; does each set count as one item or each card individually is an item?

This sounds great. I have so much right now that I need to use.The only ting I could think of that would get in the way would be purchases to complete swaps and solid colored card stock if I run out of a particular color.

COB: 15 items - i would say that each card is an item. you can set your own guidelines for yourself as this is motivation to use your stash. Laura: you can create your own rules for yourself. This is just to provide motivation to use more of what you have. I understand if you need something to complete a project/swap item. Imnchghere: Glad you can join us. The funny thing for me is that I joined swaps as a way to use stash and I ended up doubling it.

Me To, Me to. I really need to destash. Then I could possibly walk in my craft room. 15 items work great. I have to make 15 baby shower invites for my niece.

Okay I can play but I think I'll tweak the rules for myself. I made 50 cards last week so it'd be kinda silly for me to count each card separately; I think I'll count each S/10 as an item because I'll be doing 10 of each design. Other than atg refills I'm not buying anything else till after 15! I have SO much paper! Edited by user Saturday, January 12, 2013 5:06:45 PM(UTC)

Project One : Layouts These are pictures that I printed at the wrong size for a double page layout I made for the family album. Both happened to be of my daughter Maggie and she was the main reason why we went to the butterfly exhibit . I used papers from Mariposa stack , the butterflies and flowers are recollections. These will go in Maggie's personal scrapbook. Any ideas for titles would be appreciated. Laura Edited by user Sunday, January 13, 2013 11:00:15 AM(UTC)

Laura Laura, the layouts are really pretty and the papers are perfect. I wish I could offer some title suggestions, but I often struggle with those.

Pam in Ks Awesome Pam. Glad you could play too. COB - Tweek away Laura - Beautiful layouts. The only thing that I could think of for a title was Natural Beauty. FOR ALL - Anyone can join in at any time. This a work at your own pace challenge. You can tweek the rules to fit your needs as the ultimate goal is to use your stash. Posting pictures and just chatting on the boards helps me keep my resolve to do this. Hopefully it will help others as well. Edited by user Monday, January 14, 2013 4:23:18 PM(UTC)

Hi Everyone - I have an enormous stash too...and I am trying not to buy anything else new for a while...Since I have an Etsy shop that is difficult ! I am buying for re-sale when new items come around, but I have so much inventory that I am going to work with what I have for a while. I made these Valentine cards this week with a Graphic 45 Paper pad that I have had for over a year and didnt use...it is the "Magic of Oz" collection and the Tin Man's heart inspired me to do these 2 cards... I am also working on making an altered toilet paper holder for my office bathroom that I am showing you a "before" picture and when it is done there will be "after" pictures. Great idea Kel ... I am definitely in need of a "de-cluttering" in my craft area. CricutCrazy attached the following image(s):

Laura I like the saying and have used for butterfly cards: "Butterflys are poems that God writes upon the sky." Or "Butterflys are poems that God paints upon the sky." Mary

Cool Barb. Glad you could join us. Cannot wait to see the finished project of the altered toil paper holder. Did you ever imagine that you would alter one of those when you started crafting? Once the bug hits, nothing is off limits It is so hard for me to break into my G45, but I am hitting it hard these days. I have to use it or i will look at is someday when it is sooooo outdated and there is something way cooler out there (or at least that is what I will think in the future) and wonder what was I saving it for. Project Six : A very simple layout My son has been so frustrated because he wasn't making 100's on his spelling test when his twin sister, who is not as good of a speller, was. They have different teachers with different ways of grading. He was so excited and he asked me to scrap it. How could I not? I used DCWV Grade School stack. laurahunter attached the following image(s):

I love the idea of destashing. I have so much scrap stuff that I really need to use it. I have very little room to store my stash so I usually can use what I stash but the last few years I have been stashing more than I have been using. I really need to start using my bigger scraps.
