 I am having a hard time trying to figure it how to cutout a barbie silhouette. If it can't be done by the cricut then how do people cut them out like seen on etsy. i need so many for a birthday party and don't know how to go about get them cut out. any help would be great!

There are other brands of cutters that allow use of any file - you could trace a picture of a Barbie silhouette and cut it. That may be what you are seeing online. Cricut does not work like that.
The Cricut cart "Forever Young" might have what you are looking for though.

The Cricut cart "Forever Young" might have what you are looking for though. Allow is a misleading term. While you can import and trace copyrighted images in other software programs, having the software that does that doesn't give you permission to use copyrighted images whenever you want. But, you're right about the images on Forever Young. scrapalette attached the following image(s):
