OK, I definitely need some sleep. I am completely MORTIFIED to have to admit this, but I did the most embarrassing, silliest, weirdest, and craziest thing I have ever done since joining this Message Board. So here goes:
I granted Heart2hand's wish for cream and off-white colored items, and have been waiting for her to send me her address. In the mean time, I had also granted embossing pages to a brand new message board member named carnsparger, from whom I also needed an address. Yesterday morning, I get Heart2hand's address in a PM, and merrily skip off to the PO to mail her package, not even thinking about needing anyone else's address. This morning, I vaguely remember I need someone's address and think it must be the new person, so I send carnsparger another PM requesting her address, to which she promptly replies....I already sent it to you!?!? It hit me right then what I had done. I had not checked who the first PM was from, and my sleep deprived brain could only remember needing an address for one person...Heart2hand, so I had assumed it was from her. So, I had sent her package to carnsparger!!!!
I immediately PM'd carnsparger and explained the situation while apologizing as many times as the MB would allow. I asked if she would mail the package back to me once she received it, so I could then mail it to Hert2hand, and I would, of course, PayPal her the cost to do so, or send her a money order for the amount, ahead of time. She, being the wonderful, amazing, and gracious person we are all going to find her to be, not only offered to just send the package on to Heart2hand herself, so she would not have such a long wait for it, but also told me she would pay for it too! Now, I could not allow her to pay for it, but I did take her up on her offer to mail it along once she received it. WOW!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I also want to thank Heart2hand for her understanding, and for not thinking I was some batty old dunce in need of some missing marbles! And, since I mailed the package off so quickly, and carnsparger promises to do the same, and you did not see my message that indicated I needed your addy until today, looks as though you will receive it within or right around our 2 week time frame. Yay!
I will not be crazy enough to promise this will not happen again, as that invites all kinds of trouble
, but I can assure you that I will be triple checking everything from this point on. Those who know me can attest to the fact that I am an extremely organized and "together" person, and everyone I tell this story to is enjoying it immensely, at my expense! Let me be a cautionary tale for all of you!
